This will get you into regular, accessible Spanish interaction, which helps your vocabulary and writing skills immensely.

You can meet native speakers

Joining a Spanish-speaking blog community is a great opportunity to connect with native Spanish speakers.

In addition, blog authors are often avid travelers and organize meetups and get-togethers with their readers worldwide.

Some blogs even get so popular that local groups are created so readers can get together for social activities. This could be your way into a Spanish-speaking club based around your interests!

You can get consistent reading practice

To succeed in language learning, it’s important to keep your learning consistent.

Most good blogs publish at least one article weekly, so if you subscribe to the email list, you’ll have a new post in your inbox every week.

This reminds you that you need to read, and if you pick a blog on a topic that interests you, you’ll want to read!

You can learn vocabulary that’s relevant to you

If you love fashion, get into a fashion blog and you’ll quickly notice how quickly you begin picking up words from posts and the website itself.

This is great because you can then finally begin talking about things that really matter to you in Spanish.

How to Turn Blog Reading into Active Spanish Learning

Take notes. Pull out your pen and paper and start building vocabulary lists. This doesn’t need to be excessive—jot down two to three new words each time you read a post. At first, two to three words don’t sound like much, but if you’re reading daily, you’ll have 60-90 new words compiled monthly.

Read and participate in discussions. Under blog posts, there’s often a comments section where readers engage in active discussion, sharing their opinions on and reactions to the information presented. Read previous messages and participate yourself.

Write summaries of posts. For every post you read, try to write a three to five sentence summary, in Spanish, of what you’ve read. Stick to the post’s topic and mention a few things you learned, liked or that stuck out for you about the post.

There you have it, nine excellent blogs… and many more to be discovered.

To find more, simply go onto Google, type in words in Spanish that relate to your interests alongside the word “blog,” and see all the options that pop up!

Remember that many blogs, like the ones mentioned above, host guest bloggers’ posts from time to time, so take a look around and take advantage.

Who knows, you might get so inspired that you start your own business or begin traveling the world…all thanks to immersing yourself more in Spanish blogs and media.

¡Hasta la próxima, amigos (until next time friends)!

And One More Thing…

If you've made it this far that means you probably enjoy learning Spanish with engaging material and will then love FluentU.

Other sites use scripted content.
