Let me do it.)<\/p>\n<h3>21.\u00a0<em>\u00c9l\/ella es as\u00ed <\/em> (that&#8217;s who he\/she is)<\/h3>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>Ella es as\u00ed, no la vas a cambiar. <\/em>(That&#8217;s who she is, you won&#8217;t change her.)<\/p>\n<h2>Do People Say <em>As\u00ed-As\u00ed<\/em> (So-so) Like in English?<\/h2>\n<p>At some undetermined point in time, something very strange happened regarding the word as\u00ed and the English expression <em>so-so<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Somehow, as if out of nowhere, Spanish language books and even Spanish language teachers decided that the Spanish translation of <em>so-so<\/em> is <em>as\u00ed-<\/em><em>as\u00ed<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m a native Spanish speaker and I&#8217;ve been teaching Spanish as a second language for almost 20 years now, and<strong> I&#8217;ve never, ever neither said that nor heard any native around me utter it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This direct mistranslation miraculously entered the Spanish-learning world and spread like wildfire.<\/p>\n<p>The truth is you&#8217;ll never hear a native Spanish speaker say <em>as\u00ed-as\u00ed<\/em> as an answer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fluentu.com\/blog\/spanish\/learn-spanish-greetings-introductions-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>\u00bfC\u00f3mo est\u00e1s?<\/em><\/a>\u00a0And, you shouldn&#8217;t use it.
