News is everywhere, and when it comes to the enormous Spanish-speaking world, there’s a lot of it.\u00a0This is why it’s such a great resource for immersing yourself in the Spanish language: By watching the news in Spanish<\/a>, you can practice your language skills all while keeping up with current events.\u00a0<\/p>\n

4. CNN en Espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/h3>\n

CNN en Espa\u00f1ol is a 24-hour news channel broadcasting to the US and all of Latin America. Go to the video section<\/a>\u00a0for all of the news video clips, and choose an issue you\u2019re interested in. Alternatively, click on\u00a0\u201cradio\u201d<\/a> for audio only, including a live stream. They cover many topics, such as world news, US news, Latin America, health, technology, entertainment, travel, money and sports.<\/p>\n

5. Clar\u00edn<\/a><\/h3>\n

Country: <\/b>Argentina<\/p>\n

Clar\u00edn is the largest newspaper in Argentina and is well-known locally for its opposition to the previous Kirchner government. Its WebTV<\/a> section includes short news video clips, sorted by topic. They cover topics like local and national economics, politics in Argentina, some international news, sports, entertainment, fashion, travel and lifestyle.<\/p>\n

6. EFE<\/a><\/h3>\n

Country:<\/strong> Various Latin American countries and Spain<\/p>\n

Headquartered in Spain, EFE is the fourth-largest wire service in the world. Because it\u2019s so big, you can choose between Latin American and Spain versions of the site. They typically cover international news, culture, sports, technology, politics and economics.<\/p>\n

A news item with an image of an arrow over its photo indicates that there\u2019s also a one to two-minute news video to accompany the story. Find more stories through the categories in the menu at the top, or browse through even more videos, sorted by topic, on EFE\u2019s\u00a0YouTube<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n

7. TV Azteca<\/a><\/h3>\n

Azteca is Mexico\u2019s second-largest media company. It has an international branch that broadcasts in parts of Central and South America.<\/p>\n

TV Azteca\u2019s live news coverage<\/a>\u00a0is good for streaming, and the site\u2019s\u00a0home page<\/a>\u00a0has many kinds of video clips at\u00a0the bottom of the screen. These videos can also be sorted by the various categories in the far-left column.\u00a0TV Azteca\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a>\u00a0is also updated several times an hour with new news clips.<\/p>\n

You can learn about various topics, including Mexico, international news and events, health, finance, technology and entertainment.<\/p>\n

8. teleSUR<\/a><\/h3>\n

Countries: <\/b>Various Latin American countries (plus some coverage in Indigenous languages, sign language and non-natives speaking Spanish)<\/p>\n

teleSUR is the result of an agreement between a range of countries with left-wing governments, including Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Argentina, which had a left-wing government at the time. Its news coverage tends to be more in-depth and analytical, and generally promotes Latin American culture and covers issues related to the poorer population sectors.<\/p>\n

You’ll hear discussions of Venezuelan news, Latin American regional news, international news (especially from third-world countries), sports and subject matter discussions with experts.<\/p>\n

Audio News in Spanish<\/h2>\n

9. News in Slow Spanish<\/a><\/h3>\n

Country: <\/strong>Spain and various countries in Latin America<\/p>\n

News in Slow Spanish is the definitive resource for beginners to advanced Spanish learners.<\/p>\n

The two hosts go over a selection of news items from the past week at a much slower speed than what you’d hear on a news channel, helping improve your comprehension.<\/p>\n

10. Radio Ambulante<\/a><\/em><\/h3>\n

Radio Ambulante<\/em> (Walking Radio) is a news podcast that focuses on Latino and Latin American stories.<\/p>\n
