They function, in essence, as descriptive words. They modify a noun and provide extra information we wouldn&#8217;t otherwise have.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few things you&#8217;ll need to keep in mind about using French adjectives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Adjectives usually come after the noun.<\/strong> For instance: <i>le vase <strong>rond<\/strong>\u00a0<\/i>(the round vase).<\/li>\n<li><strong>The acronym BAGS<\/strong> can help you remember which adjectives go before the noun. These are adjectives related to <strong>b<\/strong>eauty,<strong> a<\/strong>ge,<strong> g<\/strong>oodness and <strong>s<\/strong>ize.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Adjectives must agree in gender and plurality<\/strong> with the nouns they modify.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>There are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fluentu.com\/blog\/french\/french-irregular-adjectives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">irregular adjectives<\/a>.<\/strong> These simply need to be memorized. When dealing with a large number such as this, simply write the numerals and add <em>&#8220;-\u00e8me&#8221;<\/em> (Parisian French) or <em>&#8220;-e&#8221;<\/em> (Quebec French).
