The chengyu一箭双雕” is the way to say “kill two birds with one stone.”  You’re using one action to solve two problems.

 

一箭双雕 (yī jiàn shuāng diāo) chengyu breakdown:

一 (yī): one

箭 (jiàn): arrow

双 (shuāng): two/double

雕 (diāo): carve, vulture

 

Here are some examples as used in the wild!

 

Usage 1: As An Adjective

Example A:

联赛全运会可谓一箭双雕

“lián sài quán yùn huì kě wèi yī jiàn shuāng diāo

“National League Games can be said to kill two birds with one stone”

Example B:

There are two other versions of this chengyu: 一石二鸟 (yī shí’ èr niǎo) and 一举两得(yī jǔ liǎng dé).
