Next Level! 6 Top Advanced Chinese Lesson Resources Online

Congratulations!

You’ve really leveled up.

If you’re reading this article, you’re probably feeling a little dizzy from the altitude.

And as an advanced learner, you may not know what to do next with your Chinese learning.

Chinese is often considered to be notoriously difficult, but you’ve trucked through the courses and lessons and practice to get where you are now.

Good on you.

Still, as John Wooden once said, “It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts.”

The language learner never stops learning, especially with such a complex language like Mandarin.

So… where do we go from here?

Well, there’s always practicing with and speaking regularly to Chinese speakers, but aside from that, periodic lessons are always a fantastic idea.

Luckily for you, we found the best of the best resources to try out so you don’t need to do heavy research.

“But don’t the lessons ever stop?” you may be thinking. “I’m an advanced learner now!”

You may think lessons are unnecessary at this point, but let’s look at why that isn’t necessarily the case.

Why Are Lessons Still Beneficial for Advanced Chinese Learners?

  • Fluency is the goal for advanced Chinese learners and lessons can aid in that goal. Just because you’re an advanced learner doesn’t mean you should nix the lesson plan. If you want to become fluent, you’ll need to sharpen your skills more and more, so you’ll need lessons that continue to challenge you.
  • It’s very easy to lose one’s lingual sharpness by not practicing or continuing to learn Chinese. The key to fluency is to keep practicing and speaking to Mandarin speakers, along with brushing up on advanced Chinese lessons. When you stop lessons, it’s easy to lose your edge altogether. To keep your mind sharp, you should never stop learning!
  • Lessons can help advanced learners learn difficult and rare Chinese words and phrases. No matter how long you’ve been learning Chinese, you’ll absolutely stumble upon words, phrases and 汉字 (hàn zì — Chinese characters) that you’re not familiar with. Continuing on with lessons can help you catch new vocabulary as you go.
