New Updated Video Player and More FluentU Courses

Here at FluentU, we recently updated the video player in an effort to make watching and learning on FluentU an even better experience – no matter what size screen or device you’re using. We also published two brand new FluentU-produced courses of our own.

New Video Player

The new video player controls and layout are streamlined to be both simpler and easier to use. In addition to that, we’ve increased both the video viewing and caption areas.

With this new layout, you don’t have to worry about longer captions disappearing below the bottom of your screen. This also means it’s optimized for almost any screen size, and that using FluentU on a tablet has never been better.

New FluentU Courses

We’re all about working to continually improve our authentic video library as well as organize new courses that will help you – our users – get even more out of that content.

As you probably know, a part of that approach means producing our own video series right here at FluentU. With our own videos, our goal is to provide content that is not only written specifically with language learners in mind, but is fun and enjoyable as well.

In that same spirit, we’ve recently released two new FluentU-produced series – both of which are also organized into two elementary courses. We hope you like them!

“FluentU: An Evening Get-together”

This eight-video course is all about conversational Chinese – from getting together with friends and having parties, to chatting about past experiences and making future plans, each one of the videos contains a new and useful conversational situation. Oh, and there’s even a bit of chemistry between the characters as well. Check it out here.

“FluentU: Shopping at the Clothing Store”

Time to go clothes shopping! In this seven-part course, follow along with Yang Kai and Zhang Ting, the couple from ‘FluentU: An Evening Get-together’, as they shop for clothes and talk about colors, sizes, and preferences – as well try a few things on and make a purchase. Does their chemistry from the previous series turn into anything more substantial? Check out the course here and decide for yourself.

We hope you enjoy both the new player, and the new courses. As always, let us know if you have any questions, comments, or feedback – we’re always listening!
